Sun Behind the Clouds

As the shut-in progresses and the distractions are fewer,

most people realize that they are trapped

in themselves with only themselves.

It has always been true,

we are just seeing this more clearly.

All the fears, neurosis, shame,

guilt, greed, old hurts, hatred, and confusion

that we carry inside on a daily basis, is revealed.

If you are trapped in yourself, with only yourself,

might as well make sure you are a good company.

Do not despair,

behind these clouds

is the real Self

untouched, loving, peaceful,

it doesn't have to be earned,

deserved, or found.

It has never been lost.

Like the sun behind the clouds,

it is already here.

Our willingness to feel what is coming up

allows the old and stagnant emotions to flow,

and the clouds part, revealing the truth.

The sun and the self have always been one.
